Karamain Satyr av Gyldenskov was the first one of the S -puppies taken to the health examinations.
Her hips are B/B, elbows A/A and shoulders are also healthy. Satyr has a I Prize from field trials from two countries.
She also has CACs and a CACIB from Norway. In France 2011 she became the Junior World Winner. Satyr is owned by
Maiken and Kristian Vatne, the breeders of Gyldenskov. They are planning the first Norwegian BB litter for 2013. It's
great to have new ambitious breeders to the Scandinavia. |
October 2011
The birdhunting season ends in the end of October (except for the
pheasant hunt). We wanted to do something special and so we drove all the way to the northest part of Finland, Utsjoki.
There we got to hunt ptarmigans and enjoy the beautiful views.

The Junkkari field trial and dog show was held in Lapua. This is a weekend for dogs that are born the previous year. There
were 349 dogs from 14 different Continental Pointing dog breeds. Five Bourbonnais Pointing dogs took part. All together
23 dogs received a I Prize, two of them BBs.

Before the test we had a two days training in Haapajärvi. Stella, Satyr and Sagittaire were there with their owners.

The owners of Stella invited some siblings to practice for a water test at their summer house. There were Karamain Stella
Polaris, Sagittaire, Sirisaphir and Rubidium. The S-puppies retrieved a bird for the first time. Jippu
joined that group and Volage just came to greet her children. Siri's "sister" Klaara, an old GPS spent the
day watching the young run around. We had a fun weekend. Thanks everybody!

My fiancé, Pekka, lost his first dog, a Wire-haired German Pointing dog almost three years ago due to a sudden illness.
His love for the breed remained and now we are about to have a new GWP in our lives.

We had a wonderful time at a puppy meeting / hunt!
Three puppies from the Karamain S-litter and two Vizsla puppies from the Ruskakedon Kennels gathered for a nice weekend.
All puppies worked like experienced adult dogs. We could only be amazed by them. The S-puppies are 9 months old and the
Vizslas are 7 months old.

This was the first hunt for Sagittaire and he really supprised us by working like this was what he has been doing all
the time. |

Remus - what a dog!
Junkkari is an annual competition for young (< 24 months) Continental Pointing dogs. There is a dogshow on one and a field
trial on another day. There were 281 dogs from more than 10 breeds. There were 7 Bourbonnais Pointing dogs.
Karamain Remus went Best of Breed and BEST IN SHOW 2!!
On Sunday Remus received a I Prize and his points were the 5th best from all the dogs at the Junkkari! Only 22 dogs
got a I Prize.
We bought Remus back almost two months ago and we had no idea how talented he would be. We'll never give him away. |

The others did not have much of luck at the field trial, but they did well on the show.

Karamain Remus has begun his hunting career and he is showing talent. Pekka had his dream come true when Remus
pointed a capercaillie. This enourmous bird is a dream of any bird hunter in Finland and in the world. Remus has pointed ptarmigans,
black grouses and a capercaillie so far.
"Team Marianna + Volage + Romulus" has been enjoying hunting elsewhere. Romulus has pointed his first bird, a black grouse. Volage
has pointed many black grouses and I have been able to get some to take with us...
